I am the
Legislative Representative for Division 398, BNSF Railway (ATSF Coast
Lines) in San Bernardino. I am also the Editor for the CSLB magazine
Capitol to Capitol. I have been the L/R at San Bernardino since 2003
and the Editor since 2006. I became a locomotive engineer in 1993 and
have been railroading for over 29 years. I have been in Southern
California since 1990 and prior to joining the AT&SF Railway I had been
with the C&NW in Iowa.
Local Division 398
has been around since the early 1900's and represents locomotive
engineers and trainmen working out
of San Bernardino under the former AT&SF Coast Lines (now ATSF) General
Committee. San Bernardino is located at the foot of the Cajon Pass - a
22 mile stretch of 2.2 to 3.2 percent continuous grade on the BNSF
transcontinental main line. San Bernardino locomotive engineers, like
their brothers in Los Angeles, are mountain-grade certified engineers,
highly trained professionals who traverse the BNSF railroad from San
Diego, Los Angeles, Barstow and Needles.
Our local division
meets at 10:00am the last Wednesday of each month at the UP Western
Lines General Committee offices, 404
N. 7th Street, Colton
California.
